The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in collaboration with the Philippine Army (PA), neutralized a shabu tiangge in Marawi City on August 6, 2011. Two drug personalities were also arrested during the operation.
PDEA Director General Jose S Gutierrez Jr said that this is the sixth shabu tiangge dismantled by PDEA and other law enforcement agencies nationwide, and the third in Mindanao from January, 2011 to present.
Elements of the PDEA ARMM, together with the 103rd Infantry Brigade, PA conducted simultaneous buy-bust operations in Lower Dansalan, Barangay Lumber, Marawi City against Zainoding M. Manso, 25, and Myrna B. Lindab, 37, both of Sabalamanao, Marawi City.
Manso, allegedly maintaining one drug den in the compound, was arrested after selling three plastic sachets of shabu to a poseur-buyer. Further search conducted by drug law enforcers yielded another four medium-sized and 20 small plastic sachets containing 7 grams of shabu.
On the other hand, Lindab was caught in the act of selling three sachets of shabu to a PDEA agent. Also recovered from her possession were 58 small plastic sachets containing 5.2 grams.
Appropriate cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been filed against the suspects who are presently detained in PDEA ARMM detention facility. Evangeline DJ Almenario, Chief, Public Information Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
