The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is, at present, refraining from commenting on the Supreme Court’s decision on the Hacienda Luisita Inc. vs. Presidential Agrarian Reform Council (PARC) case pending DAR’s receipt of the official signed decision and order.
The Office of the Solicitor General and the Department of Agrarian Reform will issue an official statement as soon as they shall have obtained official copies of the main decision and the dissenting opinions of the Supreme Court (SC) in the Hacienda Luisita case, and after they shall have met and carefully studied the implications of the SC decision.
The Legal Affairs Office of the DAR shall be meeting with the Office of the Solicitor General to discuss the implications of the SC decision.
