“BOLET” BAGS DISTRIBUTED IN QC DISTRICT 3

Some 28,000 schoolchildren enrolled at Quezon City public elementary schools in District III were provided with free school bags by Congressman Jorge “Bolet” Banal, Jr. at the start of the new schoolyear as part of the lawmaker’s continuing effort to improve the quality of the   city’s public educational system.

Beneficiaries included school children enrolled at Quirino Elementary School, Proj. 3 Elementary School, Batino Elementary School, Kalantiaw Elementary School, Pura V. Kalaw Elementary School, T. Alonzo Elementary School, Fort Aguinaldo Elementary School, Cubao Elementary School, 15th Avenue Elementary School, Aguinaldo Elementary School, Doña Josefa Elementary School, Camarilla Elementary School, Bagumbayan Elementary School, Libis Elementary and Balara Elementary School.

Congressman Banal started his bag distribution program in 2005 during his term as QC councilor.

“What we need is to promote the love for learning among our students and cultivate among them their sense of creativity and imagination,” Banal said.

Aside from the bags, basic school supplies including lunch kits were also provided to the schoolchildren.  Congressman Banal has partnered with Councilors Allan Benedict Reyes and Gian Carlo Sotto for the distribution of the school supplies and lunch kits.

Meanwhile, Congressman Banal led the unveiling of the P5 million newly-constructed multi-purpose building and covered court at the Balara Elementary School, which was built under the lawmaker’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAP).

According to Banal the new facility is expected to further enhance the physical and social growth of the nearly 4,000 enrollees of Balara Elementary School. Precy/ Ej/ Maureen Quinones, PAISO
