QCDRRMC MEETING. Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista looks and listens as World Bank’s consultant on disaster risk reduction management Mr. Peter Yanev gives a visual presentation during a meeting of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (QCDRRMC). Yanev, a structural engineer, discusses the importance of structural assessment to determine the capability of the buildings and other structure to withstand a strong earthquake. Bautista ordered the retrofitting of all the buildings in QC to make necessary refurbishing and upgrading. QCDRRMC members meet once a month to make sure that the zero casualty goal of the city government is achieved in any disaster. Present during the meeting are: QCDRRMC action officer Elmo DG. San Diego, QC Police District director S/Supt. George Regis, City General Services Department head Rolando Montiel and other city department heads who are members of the council.
