PCSO LAYUNING MATUTUKAN ANG SERBISYONG MEDIKAL AT KALUSUGAN NG PUBLIKO

Mayo 12, 2011- SA ginanap na Communication and News Exchange Forum sa Philippine Information Agency ay ipinaliwanag ni Chairperson Margarita P. Juico ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) na 30% lamang ang inilalaan ng kanilang tanggapan para sa Charity Fund, 15% rito ay para sa Operational Fund at 55% ang Price Fund.

Ayon kay Chairperson Juico na marami ang kinaharap nyang na problemang pinansyal nang siya ay naupo dahil kabi-kabila ang naniningil sa kanilang upisina. Subalit nagging kapansin-pansin dito sa kanya na hindi lubos na pinagkakalooban ng atensiyon ang talagang mandato nito, ang serbisyong medikal at kalusugan ng publiko.

Lumalabas na sa 30% na nakalaan sa Charity Fund 40% bahagi nito ay napupunta kaagad sa mga benepisyaryo ng PCSO at 60% bahagi naman ay para sa pagbili ng ambulansya.

Matatandaan na ang PCSO ay obligadong magbigay ng kaukulang kontribusyon base sa kautusan ng Pangulo at mga batas, ilan sa mga ito ay ang Philippine Sports Commission, Commission on Higher Education, Comprehensive Centennial Commission, National Commission on Indigenous People, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Foreign Affairs at Quirino Memorial Medical Center.

Sa mga kaakibat na porsiyento ng kontribusyon ang nakalaan mula sa kabuuang benta ng online lottery o lotto outlets kabilang din dito ang documentary stamp tax sa mga nasabing donasyon.

Isa sa mga hakbangin na gagawin ngayon ni Chairman Juico ay ang pagsasagawa ng ‘poverty mapping’ o pagtingin sa mga lalawigan o lugar sa bansa na hindi nabigyang pansin o atensiyon ng  dating administrasyon. Ilan sa mga lalawigang ito ay ang ARMM, CAR at Samar. Kabilang din ang tamang pamamahagi ng mga abulansya para sa mga lugar na lubhang nangangailangan na nakakategorya sa lilib at malalayong lugar, maraming mahihirap na mamamayan na nangngangailangan ng tulong medikal at pangkalusugan.

Isa ngayon sa pag-aaralan an gang lugar ng Leyte, Leyte o lalawigan ng Tacloban kung saan idinulog ng isang mamamhayag sa nasabing Forum na lingguhang isinasagawa sa PIA.
