Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista joins organizers of Camp Pag-ibig 2011 in welcoming some 2,500 children with special needs in a two-day special children’s camp at the Balara Filter Plant in Quezon City over the weekend, a day earlier before the celebration of Valentine’s Day. The city government has been hosting the Camp Pag-ibig for the last 19 years to spread the gift of love to children with special needs. With the Mayor during the formal opening of the activity are Congressman Jorge “Bolet” Banal, Jr.; Councilor Allan Benedict Reyes; QC social services development department head Teresa Mariano; former councilor Jorge Banal Sr.; Dr. Teresita Inciong, executive director of the Early Childhood Care and Development and QC division of city schools superintendent Dr. Corazon Rubio. Camp Pag-ibig benefactors also include the QC Capitol Jaycees, Phil. Association for the Retarded, Department of Education, Bureau of Elementary Education, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) and Manila Water Company. Also in photo is 60-year Eugene Ng, a long-time participant to Camp Pag-ibig.
