Gatas At Mga Pagkain Mayaman Sa Calcium

 

Ang Gabay sa Wastong Nutrisyon para sa Pilipino o Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos na binalangkas sa pamumuno ng FNRI-DOST ay binubuo ng sampung pangunahing rekomendasyon na naglalayong itaguyod ang mabuting kalusugan at wastong nutrisyon ng mga Pilipino.

Isinasaad sa nasabing gabay na “Uminom ng gatas araw-araw, at kumain ng mga produkto nito, mga pagkaing mayaman sa calcium gaya ng maliliit na isda tulad ng dilis at berde at madahong gulay”.

Ang pagsasama ng gatas at iba pang mayaman sa calcium sa araw-araw na pagkain ay nagpapatibay ng buto, nagbibigay ng mataas na kalidad ng protina at iba pang sustansiya na kailangan para sa wastong paglaki ng mga bata.

Ang sapat na dami ng calcium sa pagkain mula sa pagkabata hanggang sa pagtanda ay makatutulong upang maiwasan ang osteoporosis, isang uri ng sakit sa buto na umaatake sa mga taong may edad 65 na taon pataas.
